With every Comprehensive Eye exam at Eye contact you will be given the option between Dilation and the advanced imaging of the Optomap to have the health of your eyes checked. Dilation is the most common method practiced among eye care practitioners allowing only a 15-30 degree scope of the inside of the eye at a time. Not to mention the inconvenience of dilation drops, near vision blurriness and increased light sensitivity. At Eye Contact we offer something different. The instrument is called the Optomap. With just the click of a button we are able to take a digital image of the inside of the eye with no drops and no dilation. With these images, which give about a 200 degree scope of the inside of the eye, the doctors at Eye Contact can detect diseases such as diabetes in patients who may not be aware of their condition. This is one of many benefits our patients receive by choosing the Optomap with their eye examination.
